About Annette
Hi! My name is Annette Bannister, and I am a certified dyslexia tutor with several years of experience in teaching reading, spelling, and writing to dyslexic students. In addition to being a private tutor, I hold a teaching credential for secondary English in Pennsylvania. I would love to meet with you and see how I might be able to help your child experience confidence in reading and writing.
My goal is always to teach in the way that your child learns best. I use the Barton program, which is a research-based structured literacy program, and I create a learning environment that is efficient, fun, and relaxed. I develop targeted lesson plans and review games for each session that are tailored to your child’s unique needs as a learner.

Koala Go!
Instead of Zoom, I teach in Koala Go, a Minecraft-like, 3D platform. Students design their own avatar! As we wander through the world, we work through the Barton curriculum, reading and spelling words together. We can still see each other on video to the side of our Koala Go classroom view.
